New faculty

Medical Center leadership is proud to announce the following additions to its faculty and leadership staff. 

Joshua Brett Jeter, M.D.

Dr. Joshua Brett Jeter, a recent internal medicine resident at UMMC, has joined the Medical Center faculty as an assistant professor of medicine.

After receiving his B.S. in biomedical engineering from Mississippi State University in 2010, Jeter earned his M.D. in 2014 at UMMC, where he had his internal medicine residency from 2014-17.

He is a member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society and a Pearl L. and Otis Walters Scholarship recipient.


Erin Newman Livingston, M.D.

Dr. Erin Newman Livingston, a recent pediatrics intern and resident at UMMC, has joined the Medical Center faculty as an assistant professor of pediatrics.

After receiving her B.S. in biological engineering summa cum laude from Mississippi State University in 2010, Livingston earned her M.D. in 2014 at UMMC, where she had her pediatrics internship and residency from 2014-17.

A member of the Gold Humanism Honors Society, Livingston authored a poster, “Childhood Onset Narcolepsy,” presented at the 2017 Southern Society for Pediatric Research Southern Regional Meeting.


Rachana Marathi, M.B.B.S.

Dr. Rachana Marathi, an experienced hospitalist, has joined the Medical Center faculty as an assistant professor of medicine.

After receiving her M.B.B.S. from the NTR University of Health Sciences, Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad, India, in 2007, Marathi has an internal medicine residency at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at Permian Basin, Odessa, from 2011-14.

She has served as a hospitalist at Ochsner Clinic Foundation, West Bank campus, New Orleans, and at Piedmont Newton Medical Center, Covington, Georgia.
